Level 2 Award in Physical Intervention Course Details
Physical intervention course guides the best prevention strategies and safe responses in risky or violent situations. Since 2010, physical intervention skills have been part of the door supervisor licence-linked qualifications. Level 2 Award in Up skilling Door Supervisors (PI top-up)
Physical Intervention course is a mandatory requirement for all Door Supervisors. If your Door Supervision qualification was obtained prior to October 2010 you will need this 1 day top up training to renew your SIA Licence.
Anyone working in the industry as door staff will need to take this additional module in order to obtain their new SIA Licence. This course is also recommended for Security Guards, and those employed within the Security Industry. The course covers all aspects relating to workplace violence leading to use of force and Physical Intervention skills.
The course module is intended to provide candidates with a wider range of non-violent options for dealing with the most common scenarios involving physical contact in licensed premises. It does not offer a technique to cover every possible situation but provides a solid foundation in terms of knowledge and skills to further reduce risk to the customers and staff.
Level 2 Advanced Physical Intervention Training (Non-SIA)
This PI courseis specifically designed for security staff to achieve a higher level of skills and knowledge in the use of disengagement and restrictive techniques not covered in the SIA Physical Intervention.
Level 2 Advanced PI course will:
- Help you establish the higher level of physical intervention training
- Reduce risks to service users and staff when intervention is legitimate and necessary
- Physical responses that are professional, safe and highly effective
Level 3 Physical Intervention Award for Instructors
This course at Training Hub is designed for trainers who wish to offer physical intervention training or who wish to train other training providers in this area: they are not intended for licence applicants.
We also provide Level 3 PI Award for instructors in the Private Security Industry (QCF) for people wishing to teach physical intervention skills to people working in the private security industry.
